Novice Finals Recap
It took a full three games to decide who would hoist the Ronny Betterley Plaque but the Southwest Bullets would come away the champs against the Wallaceburg Lakers

Game 1  Southwest 6 Wallaceburg 1


Southwest came into the series going undefeated through the Championship round robin and would face the Wallaceburg Lakers who outpaced the Mooretown Flags for second


The Lakers would play host to game 1 on March 18th  and would get off to the start they were looking for as Travis J would score unassisted just 56 seconds into the game to put Wallaceburg up 1-0 but it would be the visiting Southwest Bullets that would do all of the scoring from that point on as Erwin M would score the first of his hat trick on the game with just over 3 minutes left in the first to knot the game at 1.  Erwin M would start off the second period with his second goal and eventual game winner with an assist from Cam V in the first minute of the second. Cam V would add a goal of his own for the Bullets to make it 3-1 before the end of the second period. Southwest would pour it on in the third with 2 goals by Jacob S and the last by Erwin M. The Southwest Bullets would head home with two chances to capture the plaque.


Game 2 Wallaceburg 1 Southwest 0


Southwest would play host to game 2 on March 20th with a chance to close out the series in Glencoe.  It was a goaltending duel in the do or die game for the Wallaceburg Lakers. Adrian M would carry the Lakers to victory with a shut out.  Michael J scored the only goal of the game with 54 seconds left in the 2nd period for Wallaceburg providing the only smudge on the record of Bullets goalie Emery L and the series would go the distance.


Game 3 Southwest 7 Wallaceburg 1


Southwest would once again play host in the series deciding game on March 23rd in Glencoe.  Southwest would score first 1:02 into the game as Jacob S would notch his first of 3 for the Bullets assisted by Logan T and Beau R.  Jacob S would make it 2-0 Bullets midway through the first with an assist by Connor M. Wallaceburg would pull to within 1 before the end of the period as Michael J would score assisted by Nevin W.  Southwest would get go up 3-1 as Jacob S would complete his hat trick. Rory N would make it a 4 -1 game before the end of the middle frame with an assist from Cam V. Southwest would score three more times in the third to ice the game as Logan T would score unassisted, Connor M would score with assists from Cam V and Logan T.  The last goal of the game would go to Erwin M with assists to Keenan S and Cam V. to capture the title.
