Finals Preview
With March Break over the league turns its attention to the Championship Finals Series.  Here is a preview of the matchups

Novice


Southwest Bullets vs Wallaceburg Lakers.


The Southwest Bullets seemed to have peaked at the right time as they tore through the championship round robin undefeated.  Wallaceburg scored 2 wins and 2 ties against Mooretown to book their ticket to the the finals. Head to head the teams have played 8 times in league play this year with Southwest winning 6 of those 8 meetings dating back to the regular season.


Atom


Dresden Jr. Kings White vs West Lorne Comets


The Top 2 teams of the regular season continued that trend to match up in the Finals in Atom.  The Dresden Jr. Kings White had an outstanding regular season losing only once to capture the Regular season title and scored the number 1 seed on the strength of a 6-2-1 record in the Playoffs.  The West Lorne Comets advanced to the final by winning the tie breakers with Southwest Blue as both teams finished with 10 point. But West Lorne won 2 out of 3 games against the Bullets Blue team. Head to head Dresden won 4 of 5 games played in league play outscoring West Lorne 16-8.

South Kent Lighting 1 vs South Kent Lightning 2


Once again the top 2 teams of the regular season found their way to the top at the end of the playoff round robin to face off in an all South Kent Final.  South Kent 1 grabbed home ice advantage losing only once in the playoffs while SK2 was just 1 point behind. Head to head South Kent 1 won 3 of 4 league games between the 2 teams including both playoff games outscoring SK2 18-11.


Bantam


Wallaceburg Lakers 1 vs Southwest Bullets


It’s another match up of the top 2 teams in the regular season as the Lakers 1 finished in first without losing a game in the playoffs.  The Southwest Bullets scored a 5-3-0 record in the Playoffs. Head to head Wallaceburg 1 won 4 of 5 league games between the 2 outscoring Southwest 22-12.

Wallaceburg Lakers 2 vs Dresden Jr. Kings White


It was a hard fought playoff round robin as 3 teams jockeyed for position in the final games but the Wallaceburg Lakers 2 took home ice advantage for the finals with a 6-1-1 record.  The Dresden Jr. Kings White made it by edging out the Mooretown Flags by 1 point. Head to head it is Dresden White that holds the advantage with a 2-1-1 record against the Lakers in league play outscoring Wallaceburg 15-13 while neither team has won a game on home ice.
